Report: Gazprombank freezes accounts of Venezuela’s PDVSA
MOSCOW, Feb 18 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Gazprombank has decided to freeze accounts of Venezuela’s national oil company PDVSA and the company’s transactions to avoid sanctions risks, Reuters reported on February 17 citing a source with the bank.
“PDVSA’s accounts are currently frozen. As you’ll understand, operations cannot be carried out,” Reuters quoted the source.
A representative of Gazprombank told reporters commenting on the news that PDVSA had opened no new accounts at the bank.
PDVSA denied the reports and marked the story as “fake news” on its Twitter account.
